St. Patricks Day Ride 3/17/2018
First ride of the New Year for the club. It was cold and windy and we were meeting up at the Speedvegas Track of Interstate 15 on the southside of the city. From here we were meeting up with Bruce to follow him out to Sandy Valley where him and Lori live to have a St. Patty’s day lunch which they were preparing. Lunch was great and the company was the same. As we ate and traded life stories, our personal friendships grew as we learned about one another. The day was getting short and we had a long ride back threw the mountain pass and it was not getting any warmer as the sun went down.
Topock, Az. to Oatman to Kingman Ride 4/7/2018
The Oatman Arizona ride started to be planed by Rich and Jack from the Phoenix AMCA chapter during the Mecum auction in January, 2018. We both worked on the route that we would follow by sticking to the Famous Route 66 Highway. We decided that the two clubs would meet and start the ride from Topock 66 Colorado River Resort on Route 66 and follow it up to Oatman then on to Kingman, Az and back again. We had about 50 rides for the day between the two clubs and some of the local riders from the surrounding areas. The ride was very interesting and scenic with the road going from nice and smooth to very narrow and bumpy while traveling thru the mountains. It was a great ride , along with making new acquaintances.
Mopar Valley for Breakfast Ride 4/28/2018
This was a club breakfast ride to Sugars Restaurant up north in Mopar Valley. We were to meet on Northshore Road (HWy 167) that follows along side of Lake Mead. Riding the road up to Mopar is very scenic, with many changes in elevation and twist & turns. The road is very well kept and surface is smooth. Should mention this are is a National Recreation Area and there is a cost to get in this area.
